After two straight really good weeks, I think I’ve finally
got my head wrapped around what to expect the rest of this season. There will
still be upsets along the way, and I won’t always pick them correctly, but
let’s get to this week’s picks.

Games to Watch
(Predicted winners in Bold)
Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012,
1:00pm – Cincinnati Bengals @ Cleveland Browns
Always an intense rivalry matchup, the Bengals and Browns
have played in some classic Toilet Bowls over the years. The Bengals are a
decent team this year and the Browns are searching for their first victory of
2012.
Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012,
1:00pm – Detroit Lions @ Philadelphia Eagles
The Lions have claimed the cellar as their own in the NFC
North. The Eagles aren’t in the cellar of the NFC East because the Cowboys and
Redskins are fighting too viciously to hold it for themselves. Another
potential Toilet Bowl, but it should be a close game.
Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012,
4:25pm – New York Giants @ San Francisco 49ers
In a rematch of last year’s NFC Championship, the Giants and
49ers will meet in San Francisco for the third time in two seasons. The 49ers
defended their home field in the regular season but lost to the eventual Super
Bowl winners in the NFC Championship game. This was a bit of a rivalry back in
the day and it’s good to see that coming back.
Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012,
4:25pm – Minnesota Vikings @ Washington Redskins
It truly is a shame that this game has to be going on at the
same time as the 49ers/Giants game. I never want to miss my Redskins, but now
I’ll have to miss a potentially even better matchup. The Redskins haven’t won
at home in 8 tries and the Vikings are a good enough team to keep that losing
streak alive.
Monday, Oct. 15, 2012,
8:30pm – Denver Broncos @ San Diego Chargers
Denver is coming off a rough loss to New England last week,
but there were a lot of positives to take away from it. The Chargers lost to a
winless team; a dangerous winless team, but a winless team. San Diego will have
some motivation to get back on the winning track, but right now the AFC West
goes through San Diego and Denver knows that to win the division they’ll have
to win in San Diego.
