The Saints offense finally clicked while its defense
continued to display a newfound dominance as the Saints rolled the Cardinals at
home and improved to 3-0. After allowing a touchdown on the opening drive of
the game, the Saints’ D took over and didn’t allow another score despite
playing with many short fields due to some poor special teams play.
The defense picked off Carson Palmer twice and recorded four
sacks, while the offense came alive after two sloppy games.
Drew Brees threw three touchdown passes and ran for another,
while Jimmy Graham had another great day with 148 yards and two scores. The
running game is still a work in progress, but the Saints offense appears to be
rounding back into form.
The Saints will always be in games with Brees and Sean
Payton leading the attack, but the defense will determine this team’s ceiling,
and right now the ceiling is looking pretty high.
Final Score:
Arizona Cardinals – 7
New Orleans Saints – 31
