Week 8 reminded us all just how inconsistent and unpredicted
the NFL is this season. Week 9 was predictable. Considering the ‘consistent’
back-and-forth, I expect Week 10 to be … unpredictable.

Games to Watch
(Predicted winners in Bold)
Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012,
1:00pm – Tennessee Titans @ Miami Dolphins
The Titans have had a few pretty solid games this season, but
they aren’t consistent. Miami came within a yard of continuing a drive as they
attempted to at least tie the game in Indianapolis this past Sunday. Both have
plenty of talent on their teams and a lot of potential, but neither has
consistently put it together for four quarters. This one is a toss-up.
Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012,
1:00pm – Detroit Lions @ Minnesota Vikings
The Lions scored 31 points without any of them coming off
Matthew Stafford’s arm. They are a different team than they were last year.
They’ve won some games without much input from Calvin Johnson. The Vikings have
won games as a team but have run into a few snags recently. They’re back at
home, where they have done pretty well outside of a run-in with a Buccaneers
team, but in that game Tampa Bay made a statement that they haven’t backed off
of yet.
Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012,
1:00pm – Atlanta Falcons @ New Orleans Saints
The Falcons are undefeated; the Saints are not. The Saints
are at home, where they tend to play pretty well. The Falcons are on the road,
where they tend to not play all that
well. The Saints defensive secondary was full of holes against the Eagles, and
Atlanta’s offensive line is not nearly as bad as Philadelphia’s, so they’ll
have a tough time trying to beat their division rival, home game or not.
Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012,
4:25pm – St. Louis Rams @ San Francisco 49ers
The Rams expect to have Danny Amendola back from his injury,
much sooner than most of us anticipated considering no one knew a timetable for
his particular injury. That will make a huge difference in the offense, but the
defense’s confidence may be shot after that blowout loss they suffered in
England to New England. Plus the game is in San Francisco and Alex Smith’s
confidence is soaring after his last game.
Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012,
8:20pm – Houston Texans @ Chicago Bears
These are two of the best defenses in the NFL, maybe the two best. So this comes down to
offense, and Houston has the edge. This is Chicago’s chance to impress me and
make a believer of me. The Bears don’t have many more ‘losable’ games outside
of this one – the only one that comes directly to mind is a showdown with a
Packers team that is much better now than it was when they handed Chicago their
first, and so far only, loss of the season.
